Blackwell Statement

Via email:
"Tom and I will lead a united Republican party to victory this November," said Blackwell. "As governor, job creation will be my top priority. I will ensure that Ohio controls government spending so we can cut taxes and create jobs."

"I am inspired by Ohio's economic history, filled with people of all nations, faiths and races who made things, grew things and invented things," added Blackwell. "America was built in Ohio, using products from our factories, farms and research facilities. Ohio's economy was the pride of the world and it will be great again."

"Tom and I will work with our legislative leaders to reshape our state's priorities, restore our economy and get Ohioans working again," said Blackwell. "Together, we will bring businesses and jobs back to our state. Together, we will restore the greatness and prosperity of Ohio."
Every Democrat in the state will be running against Ken Blackwell. The liberal press will be behind Strickland every step of the way.

Now is the time and this is the hour.

Sadly, other than slash-and-burn, Blackwell has no economic plan. If lected he will be blindly obedient to George Bush, and you all know what the Bush administration has done for Ohio.

Ohio's economy will deteriorate for at least another generation. Time to call the moving van.

I totally agree.

It is amazing to me that so many people support Blackwell just because he is a religious extremist and they go to his church. Trust me, he won the primary because of all of the mega-church voters.

Unfortunatly running a state has nothing to do with your views on wedge issues. I'm starting to lose hope for people. What happened to people using common sense and facts to decide on who to vote for?

saverustbelt and anon,

in case you hadnt noticed, the president cant change economies in states. and despite bob taft's feckless handling, Ohio has gained in the last few months, some jobs. Ken Blackwell will bring jobs to ohio.

Blackwell did not win because of the mega church vote. Most megachurch votes in this state went to petro, for reasons that should be obvious. A lot of the mega churches, especially in sw ohio, happen to not have an affinity for people of color. despite that, blackwell won.

Well, I live in a hotbed of religious extremist (Mercer & Van Wert counties) and I can say for a FACT, most all of them voted for Blackwell. Moderates voted for Petro.

I'm not sure where you get your information. Have you talked to people from mega-churches?
