Republican candidate for Ohio Attorney General Betty Montgomery has added the Cincinnati Enquirer and Mansfield News Journal to her long list of endorsements. Montgomery has received 19 newspaper endorsements – nearly all of the endorsements that have been made in her race.
The Cincinnati Enquirer recommended Montgomery by saying that she is a "prime choice." Editors also pointed to her vision for the Attorney General's office. "Montgomery stresses the impact the AG can have on consumer protection, Internet sex predators, Medicaid fraud and more. She views it as a versatile office with the legal and bully-pulpit power to make a difference," they noted.
Editors at the Mansfield News Journal cited Montgomery's experience as making her the better candidate. "If there's one slam dunk race in Ohio this year, it's clearly the race for attorney general between veteran Republican Betty Montgomery and upstart Democrat Marc Dann. We heartily endorse Montgomery, a veteran state officeholder, who has repeatedly proven to be an outstanding leader and representative of Ohioans," they stated.
Montgomery was pleased to receive her latest endorsements. "I am honored and humbled that nearly all Ohio newspapers have recognized my experience and my ability to once again serve Ohioans as their next Attorney General," she said.
